Yanny
A fun funky range in great colours.
Hanan Yanny Jewellery has become known for their innovative design and manufacture using a diverse range of materials. The recyled Paper range has been on sale at the Museum of Decorative Arts in the Louvre in Paris, at the George Pompidou Centre for Arts and Culture in Paris and at the South African Crafts Council in Johannesburg. It was also selected to take part in the Craft Showcase at the World Summit for Sustainable Development in Johannesburg in 2002.
They have worked collaboratively with several South African clothing designers, creating accessories that complement their collections. The Nomad and contemporary ranges of their jewellery are sold in exclusive boutiques and craft stores across the USA, Europe, Japan, Australia and Southern Africa. The purpose of Hanan Yanny is to enable disadvantaged women to generate an income, thereby supporting their roles as mothers and home- makers. They support women to proudly nurture the most vulnerable in society, their children and their elderly, and to help them to create their visions and aspirations for their families. Now based in London, the pieces are still manufacted in South Africa with the production of her paper product range, taken over by Wola Nani, a well-established and ethical Cape-Town based organisation that supports people living with HIV/AIDS.
